Los Angeles, CA -- The Secure Communities Act, which requires local authorities to share fingerprint information with federal immigration agents, has been wildly successful in deporting illegal immigrants convicted of the most heinous crimes.
Introduced in 2008 by the Bush administration to focus on the "worst of the worst", the program has effectively identified and removed tens of thousands of illegal criminals who would have otherwise remained on the streets, wrecking havoc among ordinary citizens.
Take Jorge Ortega, a paletero from Houston Texas, who was arrested after it was discovered that the chime of his bell was creating cancer-causing vibrations in neighborhoods throughout Houston. With the authority afforded by the Secure Communities Act, the dangerous paletero was successfully arrested and removed from the country.
In another instance, raspado man Luis Gonzales was arrested in Colorado after accusations of hit-and-run were raised against the mobile street vendor. According to the information uncovered through the Secure Communities Act, Gonzales illegally modified his mobile bicycle-cart to run at speeds up to 60 miles per hour and had arrest warrants in three other states for running over dozens of children.
